Da Hong Pao
ahongpao, or Big Red Robe, is one of the most famous and revered varieties of Chinese oolong tea, originating from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. Another story claims that the mother of a Ming dynasty emperor was cured of an illness by drinking this tea, leading the emperor to send red robes to honor the tea bushes.
Today, the original Dahongpao tea bushes, some of which are over 350 years old, are carefully guarded and protected. The tea produced from these ancient bushes is extremely rare and valuable, often fetching astronomical prices at auctions. However, most Dahongpao available today is cultivated from cuttings of the original plants, allowing more people to enjoy this exquisite tea.
